Street Portraits – The Story So Far

Beauties of Brighton –  2015-2017

Taken on the streets of Brighton between 2014-2016, This collection of street portraits forms the basis of my Beauties of Brighton project and it will be ongoing.

For myself, street portraiture is first and foremost a great way of expressing myself. I also treat portraits as opinions as they can be used to make suggestions of the social fabric of the society. Additionally,  a portrait can be used as a useful way of recording and a way to preserve history. I want to be able to employ the use of street portraiture to explore Brighton’s changing demographics to identify how external influences are changing this cities diverse landscape.
